The Lawrence Journal-World is a daily newspaper published in Lawrence, Kansas. The newspaper was founded in 1891 by W.C. Simons.[1] His grandson, Dolph C. Simons Jr., a 1951 graduate of KU,[2] has been editor and publisher of the paper since 1962.[1]
Jonathan Kealing is the paper's KU reporter.[3]
The World Company operates LJWorld.com and 6NewsLawrence.com and collaborates with KU's William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications to sustain the innovative Citizen Journalism Academy (CJA)
It is also the publisher of KUsports.com, a popular internet site devoted to up-to-date information about KU athletics.
In 2001, The World Company became one of the first media organizations to embrace convergence by combining its print, television and Internet news-gathering in one newsroom.[1]
